Week of July 1 – July 7: Schedule of Covered Shows

It’s July 4th week but most of the top Social TV summer series being covered by Sidecastr are still sizzlin’ along with new first run episodes.  Exceptions are: Pretty Little Liars ans Suits, which both take a break this week on airing new episodes.

Here’s our schedule for the week:

Week of 6-24: Anger Management (FX) and Awkward (MTV) begin Thursday 6/28!

We’re excited to welcome two new hot summer series to our list of covered shows!  The premiere of Anger Management (Thursday 9p – 10p ET on FX) marks the return of Charlie Sheen to a comedy series.  And Awkward (Thursday 10:30p – 11p on MTV) returns for season 2.  The show revolves around the life of 15-year-old Jenna Hamilton (Ashley Rickards), who is struggling with her identity, especially after an accident is misconstrued as a suicide attempt.  The show is based on the high school, Palos Verdes High School, in Southern California.

We expect both shows to generate high numbers of quality, entertaining social comments!

Week of 6/11: Two Exciting Summer Premiers

Just because Sidecastr was approved for release by the App Store (yeah!) doesn’t mean we’re resting on our laurels!  Tonight is episode 2 of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars (8pm ET).  On Wednesday, TNT brings back Dallas (9pm), updated for the new millennium.  And on Thursday last year’s surprise hit of the year, Suits (USA, 10pm) premieres.

For NBA fans, tonight marks the start of the NBA Finals between the Eastern Conference victors Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder.  We will miss covering tonight’s Game 1 event, but by Thursday’s Game 2, our ability to cover two or more overlapping shows at once will be rolled out, and we’ll be there for you.

Try watching Mad Men season finale tonight using our final release

Mad Men has its season 5 finale tonight at 10pm ET.  On Saturday we released beta 0.55, our Apple approved App Store version.  We have a few pre-release beta slots available, so if you own an iPad running iOS V5.x, and are a fan of Mad Men or any of our current summer or shows covered in the past, click here to register: http://tflig.ht/JiyOVA.

The final 1.0 release is sporting our instantly popular Auto-Scroll feature, which may just become the de-facto way of using Sidecastr.  We refer to it as “couch potato” mode: just activate it from the top bar of any sidecast detail page, sit back, watch the show, and let the app pop one (synchronized) sidecast at a time onto the iPad’s screen.  To stop, write a reply, or browse to a referenced web page, just tap once.

Deciding Game 6 of NBA Eastern Conference Finals?

Tonight we will be featuring the best of the social stream for the crucial Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics.  Boston leads the series 3 – 2.  It’s a must win for Miami in hostile territory, and it’s essentially a must win for Boston as well, because game 7 would be back in Miami with the momentum shifted.

6/5: Pretty Little Liars + NBA Eastern Conference Playoff Final, Game 5

During Sidecastr Beta period, we have been limited to being able to cover only one live show at a time.  [Note: by the time we appear in the app store in the next few weeks, that limitation will be removed].

However, this will effect our coverage options tonight.  From at 8:00pm – 9 ET, we commence summer season coverage of season 3 of Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family.  When the Celtics – Heat Game 5 in Miami begins at 8:30pm ET, we will not by able to cover or sync you to the game for the first half hour.  Instead, we will complete Pretty Little Liars at 8:59 and switch to cover the remainder of the basketball game.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
